Meet Kahra

Kahra Strumar is a versatile piano instructor with a Master of Arts Degree in Piano Pedagogy from California State University, Fullerton and an active member of the Music Teachers' Association of California (MTAC) Diamond Bar Branch.

  • She has helped students skillfully in piano performance and music theory for over ten years.

  • She is a disciplined and resourceful instructor who provides a balanced mix of Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary learning musical styles.

  • She offers lessons to charter schools.

  • She also teaches modern piano music from cartoon TV shows/movies and animated TV shows/movies. 

Kahra`s Experience

  •  Completed the Certificate of Merit (CM) Level 8 exam with Honors in 2015.

  • Completed Master of Arts Degree in Piano Pedagogy from California State University, Fullerton.

  • Graduated from Whittier College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music and a Minor in Business Administration and Chinese language.

Kahra`s Teaching Style

  • Kahra teaches individuals in a fun and relaxed environment and is skilled in exposing students to technique, sight-reading, music theory principles, repertoires, and ear training. She combines her music knowledge, enthusiasm, and an intuitive sense of tailoring each lesson to fit the student's needs.

  • She emphasizes the importance of family involvement in the teaching process. She feels that a good relationship between parent, teacher, and student is significant for healthy musical development.

  • She is comfortable teaching students from age 4 & Up all across the United States including those with hearing impairment, ADHD, autism, and dyslexia.

  • She offers in-person lessons and live online lessons via Zoom or Google Meet.
